How long does it take to build your first home?

A single-storey home with a standard design takes between 4-6 months to complete on average– provided there are no unforeseen delays. Delays can occur due to the following reasons .

Weather can cause issues and particularly rain which is the vein of builders. It is prudent to understand weather patterns as best you can and to ensure contingency is  built into projections.

The Builder you choose. Some builders take on more work than their internal systems can cope with . This is why First Homebuilders only takes on select work and offers a boutique experience  https://www.firsthomebuilders.com.au/about-us.

Changing the plan. This will result in delays particularly if changes occur late in the process.

It is worth noting that any promises of 2-3 month build times may lead to a house that has been rushed and not had the appropriate time to settle.
